In its second annual edition, the International Film Festival of Ouarzazate received 3,861 short films of all categories and from all over the world, with an increase of 861 films more compared to the first edition which had 3,000 films. The United States led the list of participants with (418 films) followed by India (334 films) then Iran (393 films), while the Moroccan participation was decently mediocre for it featured no more than 14 films.
The film selection committee needed about four months to watch all the films and select the best 100 films to be presented during festival’s six-days event.
A film was selected according to its type and theme: Moroccan film category, international film category, documentary film category and animated film category. After the selection process, the films were showcased during the festival’s six-days period.
